UAV/Drone Mapping
UAVs can fly in inaccessible areas or unsafe areas without endangering life. Features such as stockpiles, landslips, power lines, forests, farms, quarries and mines can be surveyed safely and accurately by our surveyors. Services available include:
- Aerial Photogrammetry
- Video Mapping and Inspections
- 2D Geo-referenced Orthomosaics
- Point Cloud Generation
- Digital Terrain and Elevation Models
- 3D Modeling and Visualisations
- Contour and Feature Extraction
- Multi-spectral and Thermal Imaging
- Stockpile Calculations and Pit Volumes
- Landslip and erosion mapping
- Power-line clearance surveys
There is presently a huge amount of investment into UAVs and associated software which will increase drone capability and accuracy exponentially. As with all types of measurement technology there are checks and balances which need to be made by survey professionals to ensure the end product is fit for purpose.
Automated 24/7 monitoring
"The Virtual Surveyor" measures and analyses survey data to determine movement at specific locations. Key features include:
- 24/7 monitoring and analysis of all incoming data
- Fully automated recording and data management system
- Consistent and timely notifications via SMS/email
- Ability to be tailored on the fly to suit site requirements
These continuous measurements allow for error free tracking of movement over time thus allowing for an informed decision making process to be undertaken.
By implementing “The Virtual Surveyor” deformation monitoring system risk can be identified early and acted upon accordingly.
Robotic Total Stations
Robotics, reflector-less technologies and on-board data recording and programs built into theodolites allow for safe, accurate and faster surveys. Infrastructure Surveys utilise Leica total stations as they are the industry standard for accuracy and durability.

Digital Levels
The Digital level operating process operates 50% faster than traditional dumpy levels and provides error free readings. We are therefor faster and more productive.

Mobile mapping
The "iDrive" system allows for rapid data collection confined to the path traversed by a vehicle. Data is collected quickly and processed efficiently which minimises redundant information and reduces the cost to the client.

Terramodel Software
Terramodel software, enhanced with custom software (TMLs) , is a formidable package for all engineering survey requirements. Custom software development was recently used to create efficient survey processes for a 3500+km HDPE pipe laying projectin Central Qld.. Below are a few of the custom enhancements:
- Machine control
- Pivot irrigation design
- Irrigation bay design
- Irrigation channel design
- Pad design
- Forest road design
- Vehicle turning movements
- Pipeline optimisation
- Hanging architectural panels
- Drill and blast (incl through seam)
- Position monitoring
- GIS database
- Filtering
- File conversion eg 12D input/output
- Global positioning
- Alignment planning
